Day 3 - Friday, October 29th 2010

Field trip to Hungary, organized by ERTI. Field Trip will start from Varaždin in the morning of October 29th and will also end there in evening hours of that same day. For participation at the FT please note that you are obliged to have valid passports with yourself, with valid Schengen visas (where applicable) as you will pass border control between Croatia and Hungary*.

*required a Schengen visa

Programme will be as follows:
08:00 Varaždin, departure
09:00 – 11:00 Tormafölde
Visit to a management/thinning trial and a short walk in a 160 year old, unmanaged beech forest.
11:30 – 13:30 Bucsuta
Visit to the Bucsuta international provenance trial, presentation of the result of the early evaluations.
Snack, coffee
14:30 – 16:00 Zalaegerszeg
On the spot – update on the health status of the extrazonal beech forests: local stands have been suffered serious drought-induced damages recently.
16:30 Dinner
Departure to Varaždin in evening hours
