A three-day workshop for project partners took place in \u0110ur\u0111evac from 23rd to 25th October\u00a02018 in the\u00a0organization of Croatian Forest Research Institute. More than 15 forestry experts participated in the workshop with the purpose to establish common criteria and procedures for selecting plus trees in project partner countries: Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, Serbia and Croatia. The first-day meeting was organized in the hotel, where partners determined common criteria for plus trees. The next two days were dedicated to the visiting of the demonstration sites, where partners selected the potential plus trees for Fraxinus angustifolia<\/em> Vahl., Quercus robur<\/em> L., Alnus glutinosa<\/em> (L.) Gaertn. and Ulmus laevis<\/em> Pall.. These plus trees will later provide quality reproduction material for the production of clones and establishment of clone seed plantations. After the workshop partners have to repeat the selection of plus trees in their respective countries in the area of Mura-Drava-Danube Biosphere Reserve.<\/p>\n

The next REFOCuS meeting will be held in 2019 in the organization of the Institute of Lowland Forestry and Environment in Novi Sad.<\/p>\n
