About research centers

Research Centers were established in 2008 on the basis of the Agreement on Co-operation and Joint Action concluded by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, the Forestry Institute Jastrebarsko, Hrvatske šume d.o.o. and the regional and local self-government units signed on October 29, 2007.

Research Centers have been established with the aim of linking forestry research activities to the needs of the local community and forestry colleagues to ensure sustainable forest and forest land management with the aim of applying and advancing the forestry profession’s achievements through scientific research.

Research Centers are located in Pazin – Center for Forest Ecosystem Goods and Services “Josip Ressel”, Varazdin – Center for Urban and Private Forests and Vinkovci – Center for Lowland Forests, and are engaged in researches related to local forestry specificities in the areas of activity.
