Management of Forest Soils in Croatia

Forest pedology in Croatia has a tradition of one hundred years The author of this scientific book is Jakob Martinović PhD, a scientific adviser in retirement, employee of the Forest Research Institute, Jastrebarsko, for a long time acknowledged and well-known scientis and researcher in forest pedology. During the last 40 years the history of forest pedagogy in Croatia has been marked by investigation in forest types (typology) and mapping of forest ecosystems, including their relationship to vegetation cover. The author of the book elaborated eight groups of problems; some of which are mentioned; relation between soil and vegetation, soil productivity, management evaluation of soils and theri suitability for various purposes, interventions and state of soil, problems of damage and protection.
As it is emphasised by the author the book does not include all questions of forest pedology, related to biology and soil mineralogy, general knowledge of genesis, evolution and general physiography.
