The Croatian Forestry Institute is organizing a conference for early-career forest researchers titled: Conference for the New Generation of Forest Researchers (ForX)
We invite all researchers at the start of their careers whose work relates to forests, trees, and associated ecosystems—engineers, research associates, assistants, senior assistants, postdoctoral fellows, and other early-career colleagues.
The conference will take place on November 13–14, 2025 at the Jastrebarsko Cultural Center, Croatia.
Organizers of the conference are: Croatian Forest Research Institute, Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, University of Zagreb, Academy of Forestry Sciences, Croatian Forestry Society, Croatian Chamber of Forestry and Wood Technology Engineers and Croatian forests Ltd.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Dear early career researchers working in forestry or forest-related fields, we invite you to submit an abstract to participate in the Conference for the New Generation of Forest Researchers – ForX 2025.
The ForX conference will take place in Jastrebarsko, Croatia from 13 to 14 of November 2025.
The conference wishes to highlight innovative research related to all aspects of forestry and forest ecosystems conducted by the early-career researchers. The conference will accept oral and poster presentations.
The ForX 2025 conference will explore the following aspects:
1. Forest Ecosystems and Environmental Pressures
This topic will accept submitted abstracts which are related to ecological research in forests, environmental research in forests, research related to climate change and its influence on forest ecosystems.
2. Sustainable Management of Natural Resources
With this topic, the conference wishes to explore sustainable practices that are used or could be used in forest and forest-related ecosystems. This includes, but is not restricted to, forest management, silviculture, forest reproductive material, sustainable forest pest and diseases management, genetic resources management and game management.
3. Modern Technologies and Innovations in Forestry
This topic would like to highlight the use of modern technologies and innovations in contemporary forestry. All research that employs the use of digital technologies, remote sensing, modelling, AI, modern and unusual tools are welcome in this session.
4. Urban Forestry and Cities of Tomorrow
Urban forestry and urban forest-related abstracts should be submitted under this topic. This includes research on all aspects related to urban forestry and human-nature interactions such as ecological research in the field of urban forestry, sociological research in the field of urban forestry, arboricultural research in the field of urban forestry.
5. Out-of-the-box Forestry
If you would like to participate at the ForX conference, but your innovative research does not fall under any of above-mentioned categories, we established Out-of-the-box Forestry topic which would accept abstracts with high quality that are not covered with other conference’s topics.
Abstracts should not exceed 2,000 characters (spaces included) and should be submitted in the English language. Do not include figures, tables, or attachments to the abstract. The proposal should be relevant to one of the five topics mentioned above.
