The ENGAGING project’s kick-off meeting held in Vienna

21/05/2018

Marta Curman and Miljenko Županić participated in the kick-off meeting of the project ENGAGING (Engaging owners of small private forests in active management) at the Austrian Forest Research Center (BFW) on 8th and 9th May 2018 in Vienna. On the first day BGW presented the project’s objectives and tasks ahead, while on the second day partners from nine European countries addressed current status of small scale forestry and small forest owners in their countries.

ENGAGING is coordinated by the Austrian Forest Research Center (BFW) and co-funded by the European Forest Institute (EFI). This project started in April 2018 and will end in October 2018. It aims to identify promotional campaigns targeting private forest owners, analyze the reasons for success or failure and derive recommendations for regionally relevant campaigns aiming at the active engagement of small forest owners in forest management. The project involves 15 EFI member organizations. We are looking forward to the second meeting in October 2018 in Spain.
