ROSEWOOD seeks to leverage the potential of the wood industry by encouraging sustainable wood mobilisation and promoting novel approaches in forest management. The aim is to build a European network of regions facilitating the transfer of best practices and innovations in the forest sector. Four Wood Mobilisation Regional Hubs in North, South, Central and East Europe will be established to this end. In the framework of the Hubs the project partners will investigate current needs of the forestry sector in their region through expert interviews and organise workshops and trainings on sustainable wood mobilization with local stakeholders.
Through connecting stakeholders from along the forestry value chain, ROSEWOOD will close existing knowledge gaps, foster the take-up of new ideas and create momentum for economic partnerships between different stakeholders and regions. The activities of the project will contribute to an economically viable and sustainable development in forestry and in rural areas towards the enhancement of an EU Bioeconomy.
Within ROSEWOOD Croatian Forest Research Institute is responsible for supporting the Regional HUB manager in all tasks.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 776754.
